British engineers might be handed rewarding contracts with Indonesia to regenerate its sick street and rail networks under a government push to boost business and diplomatic ties with Southeast Asia after Brexit, the Telegraph has realized.

The move would pit British corporations towards Chinese and Japanese trade giants who are vying for affect over Indonesia’s booming economy, in one of the first assessments of the uk’s publish-Brexit “World Britain” strategy.

“We Are trying to get a better slice of the action,” Moazzam Malik, the British ambassador in Indonesia, advised the Telegraph as UK officials unveiled the brand new plan to woo Indonesian investors.
